~~~~~~~~~~~~~Sorrow~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pure happiness and utter sorrow, two completely opposing emotions live so tightly wound together that it is often difficult to notice when one is replaced with the other. Where there is happiness, love and joy there is surly sorrow, torment and anger lurking close by waiting for the opportune moment to strike leaving nothing but pain in their wake.
What is it about joy that seems to breed and feed anger? Those that have the rare pleasure to feel pure, untainted joy know there is nothing in this world or the next that can come compare, but alas where there is joy all you need do is look closely at your surroundings and you will see the anger, sorrow and jealousy ooze from those you hold close like a sore just waiting to burst.
What is it about torment that seems to draw love closer? True torment is a feeling unlike any other, a feeling so powerful and so precise that it is like a butcher; it slices, rips and tears at every inch of ones being and while it may leave you mangled and in pieces it shows us what could be waiting for us and allows us to see through new eyes, to see and accept the love of others if we allow it to.
Pure untainted happiness is the most pleasant of all teachers, with its aid we can soar to heights before unimaginable and accomplish what was once believed imposable, but pure happiness can be overlooked and taken for granted if one hasn’t before known the torturous sting of torment and sorrow.
It is a vicious but necessary cycle of life because pure unmerciful torment teaches us and can allow us to fully appreciate happiness when it is found and go into it without fear because those lucky few already know what waits at the bottom of the endless pit of sorrow. . . . .happiness.
